Pole dancing is a totally unique workout, it has become a very popular form of exercise in the last 8 years & now there are many competitive events worldwide.
There are numerous health benefits as well as having fun & exploring your inner confidence. All the pole dance teachers, competitors, performers & students I have met are all discovering their own pole journey & nobody is here to judge.
Pole dancing helps burn calories quickly, it’s a great isometric and cardiovascular exercise wrapped into one as you are always moving your body around. Your strength will increase very quickly and you use muscles you never even knew you had! When lifting your body weight onto the pole you are working all your upper body & core muscles, but in a more fun & exciting way! This form of exercise keeps you motivated because there are so many different moves to do; you actually forget you’re working out! Your flexibility will increase & you will find this helps with day to day activities... If, like me, you sit at a desk most of the day, your muscles can sometimes get quite stiff.
Pole can be a perfect way to help relieve that stiffness all the while increasing your flexibility. Self-confidence is a huge part of this activity, you can take what you want from these pole dance classes but I guarantee it will build your confidence, first of all getting your gym kit down to hot pants & a crop top seems terrifying but when you realise nobody is judging & all want to try out these amazing pole moves it really doesn’t seem that scary.
